PM addresses All Party Meet

Following is the text of the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh’s Opening Remarks at the All Party Meeting in New Delhi today:

PM stresses close monitoring and timely steps to maintain growth momentum

The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh called the Finance Secretary and other Secretaries of the Ministry of Finance today after assuming charge of the Ministry. They briefed him on issues of importance in the current context specially those relating to the economic slowdown which have been engaging attention of Govt. The Prime Minister gave his overall directions regarding the transaction of official business in the Ministry of Finance and stressed the need for close monitoring and timely steps for maintaining the growth momentum.

Fujitsu Launches SD Multi-Decoder LSI Supporting MPEG-2 & H.264

AUSTRALIAN SOLDIER WOUNDED IN ROADSIDE BOMB ATTACK

An Australian Bushmaster Protected Mobility Vehicle (PMV) serving with the Mentoring Reconstruction Task Force (MRTF) was struck by a road-side bomb in Oruzgan province in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The blast wounded one Australian soldier and a civilian employed by the ADF who was travelling in the same vehicle.

The soldier and civilian received immediate first aid and were evacuated by helicopter to the military hospital located nearby at Tarin Kowt.

Abdur Razzak suspended from bowling in international cricket

The ICC today announced that Bangladesh bowler Abdur Razzak has been suspended from bowling in international cricket pending fresh assessment after independent analysis of his bowling action revealed that his action exceeded the 15-degree level of tolerance permitted under regulations.

The independent analysis was performed by Dr Marc Portus, member of the ICC Panel of Human Movement Specialists, at the Australian Institute of Sport, Biomechanics Department, Canberra, Australia on Monday 17 November.
